We now have five new Riverfly monitors! Equipped courtesy of the Berks Bucks and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust and trained by Tony Bostock MBE of the Severn Rivers Trust, they will be sampling the Windrush monthly.
They are accredited as part of the Riverfly Trust initiative which uses a nationally recognised method to score locations on the river based on the numbers of various invertebrate groups present.
The locations will be spread along the river and will fill in a lot of gaps which will be provided to the Environment Agency to help provide an accurate assessment of the true state of the river.
Our results will be made available monthly and kept on the web page.
